Blood test booking
If you have been requested to have a blood test carried out by the hospital or by the practice, please book an appointment by calling 0300 303 5299 or via www.esneftpathology.nhs.uk.
ESNEFT – Swiftqueue (phlebotomy booking service)
From July 1st, 2026, all patients will access Swiftqueue exclusively via their NHS login in line with NHS England requirements. The existing Swiftqueue username and password option will be removed. To support a smooth transition, from May 6th, 2026, the NHS login will appear as the primary login option, and patients will be encouraged to link their NHS login ahead of the deadline. Their existing Swiftqueue login will remain available until July 1st.
Patients with an NHS login will see no change to their booking journey. Patients without an NHS login will benefit from a simplified registration process allowing them to book appointments easily online. Instructions on how to do this are available via the SwiftQueue Help Centre. Support materials and patient help guides are also readily available via the ESNEFT pathology website.
The phlebotomy service offers appointments at Ipswich Hospital, Colchester Hospital and at ESNEFT Phlebotomy Clinic Ravenswood, 24 Hening Avenue, IP3 9QJ.
Urgent blood tests
If you have been asked by a clinician at the practice to book an urgent blood test and are not able to find an appointment via www.esneftpathology.nhs.uk, please contact the surgery and our Care Navigators will access the pathology system to see if they are able to book you an urgent blood test at the phlebotomy clinic.
Hospital blood test requests
If you have been asked to have a blood test by the hospital, please ensure you have been provided with the relevant blood test forms, or the hospital have added the relevant blood requests to ICE (our clinical system for blood requests).
We are not able to add bloods, as we are not the requesting organisation.
If you have booked an appointment for a blood test at the practice and the request is from the hospital, if you do not have the forms, or they have not been added to ICE, we will ask you to rebook your appointment, as we will not be able to perform the blood test.
To ensure your care is not impacted, please ensure you have the relevant forms with you, or have confirmed with the hospital that they have added the forms to ICE.
