Please note that the practice does not accept prescription requests over the phone. Our prescription turnaround is 3 working days and repeat medication can be requested up to 7 days before your medication is due. In the event you need to order medication early as you are due to go on holiday, please ensure you detail this on your request.

If you need to request a repeat prescription, you can do this by any of the following methods:

• Via AskMyGP 
• Via SystmOnline (if you have not yet set up online access and need support with this, please contact the practice and ask for our Digital and Access Coordinator to make contact, alternatively any member of our reception staff will be able to assist you. Note you will require to bring in ID to set this up).
• Via the NHS App
• If you have a nominated pharmacy they will be able to put in the request on your behalf
• Complete the B side of your prescription and drop off at any of our three sites
• Collect and complete a form from reception at any of our three sites and pass to the receptionist who will arrange for this to go to our prescription clerks
• Via email to cardinal.prx@nhs.net (note if sending requests at the weekend, the first working day of the week will be counted as day 1 for turnaround)

Out of stock medication

In the event your pharmacy advise you that an item is out of stock, or that there is a national shortage, please ask your pharmacy if they have an alternative item in stock. You can then make contact with the surgery via any of the above avenues to inform us, so we can ask our GPs to issue the alternative.

Unfortunately, the surgery will not be aware of stock levels at each pharmacy, so if the pharmacy you usually use does not have an item in stock and are unable to offer an alternative, then please contact another pharmacy to check if they have your item in stock. You can then contact the practice via the above methods to ask for a ‘one off’ change in nominated pharmacy, as your usual pharmacy do not have your item in stock.
