Requesting completion of Non-NHS work (such as to whom it may concern letters, medical reports etc)
If you request work that is not provided for under the terms of the NHS Primary Care Services contract, your GP may be happy to undertake such work for you, however, as this is classed as a private service, you will incur a charge for completion of your request and on some occasions, they may however refuse to action the request.
As our priority is NHS work, note there is a 28 working day for Non-NHS work to be completed. If your request is urgent, please make this known during your request and the GP will be notified, although we cannot guarantee this will be completed before the 28 working day turnaround. Non-NHS work is charged in line with British Medical Association Guidelines and MASTA travel. We review our fees annually in line with recommendations made by the BMA & MASTA. To enquire a price for any Non-NHS work, you can send an email to cardinal.medicalpractice@nhs.net with your enquiry or visit any of our three sites whereby our reception team will be able to advise.
Please note however our GPs are unable to sign and verify passport applications.
If you require Non-NHS work to be carried out, please where possible, take your request (and relevant forms) to our Norwich Road site to avoid any delays, as this is where the Administrative team who deal with these requests can start the process, although this can be accepted at any of our sites.
If you wish to pay by card for your Non-NHS work to be carried out, you will need to attend our Norwich Road site, where a card machine will be available. Alternatively if you wish to pay by cash, you can attend any of the three sites, although we do request that you arrange to bring exact payment to be made where possible.
